I. Historical Evolution and School Orientation
School of General Education, renamed in April 2025, traces its origins to the Department of Public Basic Teaching established in 2017 when the Institute was founded. The renaming is a key measure in the Institute's "department-to-school" reform and is intended to integrate resources and advance the integration of general education and professional education.
Upholding the Institute's motto of "Virtue, Wisdom, Brewsmanship, Commitment", the School of General Education practices the educational philosophy of "Cultivating Virtue and Competence, Balancing Heritage and Innovation, Integrating Brewing Theories and Practices, and Unifying Knowledge and Action". Taking "fostering virtue through education" as its fundamental mission, the school focuses on cultivating students' comprehensive qualities. It explores innovative paths for general education under the educational strategy of "Small Scale, Refined Standards, High Quality, Distinct Features, and Open Vision," aiming to nurture high-caliber application-oriented talents with craftsmanship spirit who can adapt to local economic development.

(I) Institutional Setup

It is responsible for the school's daily management work.
Teaching and Research Office
Teaching and Research Office has 5 subordinate teaching and research sections:
Mathematics Teaching and Research Section: Strengthens students' mathematical thinking and logical reasoning abilities.
College English Teaching and Research Section: Focuses on language application and expanding students' international perspectives.
College Chinese Teaching and Research Section: Deepens the inheritance of fine traditional Chinese culture and improves students' writing skills.
College Physical Education Teaching and Research Section: Promotes the teaching model of "Healthy Physique + Specialized Skills."
Aesthetic Education Teaching and Research Section: Offers the course of "College Aesthetic Education" and optional aesthetic education courses to enhance students' aesthetic literacy.
(II) Faculty Resources
As of 2025, the school has 54 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 10 associate professors, and 42 lecturers. Among them, there is 1 provincial-level distinguished teacher, and all teachers hold a master's degree or above. By adopting the talent introduction strategy of "Leading by Distinguished Appointees, Integrating Full-time and Part-time Teachers," the school encourages its faculty to participate in teaching competitions and scientific research, thus forming a positive cycle of the mutual promotion between teaching and research.
III. Curriculum Development and Teaching Features
(I) Curriculum System
Compulsory Courses: The school offers 13 general education compulsory courses for Freshman and Sophomore across the Institute, covering basic disciplines such as mathematics, Chinese, aesthetic education, English, and physical education.
Elective Courses: There are nearly 50 elective courses available. The characteristic course of “Moutai Aesthetics” focuses on liquor culture, craft aesthetics, and regional characteristics, fostering students' cultural identity and innovative capabilities.
Modular Teaching: The school has developed modular course clusters including "Rationality and Science," "Cultural Interpretation and Aesthetics," and "Social Practice and Innovation." These clusters break disciplinary boundaries and cultivate students' interdisciplinary thinking.
(II) Teaching Innovation
The school promotes practical education through the "Second Classroom," which is guided by the goal of "Forging My Physique and Beautifying My Soul." It organizes activities such as martial arts, sports dance, and poetry competitions.
Over the past three years, the school has guided students to win more than 230 awards in provincial-level and above discipline competitions, including the national second prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition and the special prize in the “FLTRP· ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest, thus effectively enhancing students' practical and collaborative abilities.
IV. Subject Competitions and Scientific Research Achievements
By adhering to the closed-loop model of "Teaching Raises Questions, Research Provides Solutions, and Achievements Enter the Classroom," the school has secured 38 scientific research projects at various levels and published 57 high-level papers over the past three years. It attaches great importance to transforming scientific research achievements into teaching resources and has developed characteristic institute-based courses.
V. Development Plan and Future Vision
(I) Deepening the Integration of General and Professional Education
Relying on the advantages of " Institute - Run by Famous Enterprises" supported by Moutai Group, the school promote the collaborative education model of " Curriculum, Posts and Industries", and develop special general education courses such as "Liquor Culture", "Introduction to Sauce-flavor Baijiu."
(II) Strengthening Faculty Development
The school will continue to introduce high-level talents, cultivate distinguished teachers and research teams, and enhance teachers' international competence.
(III) Expanding Practical Platforms
The school will build interdisciplinary innovation laboratories and establish an integrated base for " Integration of General-Specialized Education, Teaching, Research, and Innovation" in collaboration with other schools, to serve local economic and meet industrial needs.
The school is moving toward the goal of "Solid Foundation, Distinct Features, and High Quality", laying a solid foundation for the Institute to become an "industry-leading and world-renowned" application-oriented university. Looking ahead, it will be driven by innovation to write a new chapter in the integration of general education and industry.
